Anna's Hummingbirds are among the most common hummingbirds along the Pacific Coast. This bird was named after Anna Massena, Duchess of Rivoli. Anna's Hummingbird is 3.9 to 4.3 inches (10 to 11 centimeters)long. It has a bronze-green back, a pale grey chest and belly, and green flanks. Its bill is long, straight and slender. The adult male has an iridescent crimson-red crown and throat, and a dark, slightly forked tail. Anna's is the only North American hummingbird species with a red crown. Anna's Hummingbirds normally have a body temperature of around 107 degrees Fahrenheit that's a scorching temperature for a human. When outside temperatures fall, Anna's and many other species of hummingbirds enter torpor. Their breathing and heart rate slow, and their body temperature can fall as low as 48 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature warms, the hummingbirds can become active again in a few minutes.

I like very much this photo. The gentle pinky back ground make him even cuter. Of course the open tail is fantastic. I also like the green on the top-left. I personally find i tiny bit distracting the twig on the top center... of course just a personal point of view.
